New Managing Director for Crown Pet Foods

I have recently been appointed as International Marketing Director for our parent company, the Royal Canin Group, and one of my final tasks here in the UK is to extend a warm welcome to Jean-Lin Pelatan who is taking over from me as Managing Director.

Jean-Lin and I have known each other for many years, having both held management positions within Royal Canin Group. Jean-Lin spent several years as a Financial Analyst at the Group’s US operation in Missouri before moving to become Chief Finance Officer of the Belgian subsidiary in 2001. During his time in Belgium he also occupied Sales & Marketing positions. More recently he has been responsible for creating and developing a new central distribution and supply chain operation for Supply Chain in Europe providing logistics, marketing and sales support for the Group’s growing list of European operations.

With our highly motivated workforce and cutting-edge production facilities the company is now well placed to build on its success for many years to come, and Jean-Lin is the man to help do just that.

I am sad to be leaving so many friends and colleagues in Somerset and throughout the UK but it is very reassuring to hand over responsibilities to someone I know well and who has the determination to take the company forward.

Finally I want to say a huge thank you to so many people who have sent me good wishes for my new appointment and to everyone who has worked tirelessly to help the company meet settle in its new home. My very best wishes to all concerned and I look forward to seeing many of you again during future visits to Somerset in my new role.

I’m delighted to be taking over the reins from Francois at such an exciting stage in the development of our UK operations. We share the same values and commitment, having both worked for Royal Canin for many years, and I’ve already seen at first hand the enthusiasm, drive and team spirit of our workforce.

We’re now approaching full production at our site and we’re well on track to meet our target growth target – which is great news for our team, our clients and the local economy. I’m very much looking forward to continuing this dynamic growth and building on the local goodwill which is so much in evidence.
